With the growing popularity of weddings abroad, more couples than ever before are considering the option to celebrate their wedding in a unique and fabulous location.
For me, getting married abroad added an extra touch of magic to an already special occasion.
For our guests our wedding was unique and very different from other weddings they had been to.
So how do you know if getting married abroad is right for you?
MY ADVICE, START YOUR LIST NOW!
-> Grab a piece of paper and pen
-> Divide your piece of paper into two columns
-> On the left side of the page write ‘reasons I would love to get married abroad’
-> On the right side of the page write ‘what would stop me getting married abroad’
Once you have finished your list, what does it tell you?
Does it confirm having your wedding abroad is what you would love to do?
The budget: Even after you’ve splashed out on flights and accommodation, a wedding abroad could be cheaper than one in Belgium
Small is beautiful: Overseas weddings are great for couples who want an intimate day with close family and a few friends
The weather. It’s no surprise that guaranteed sunshine is at the top of the list when couples start thinking about where to get married
Hello honeymoon: You wake up as man and wife, and already you’re in the honeymoon destination of your dreams
Legalities: In some countries it’s easy to get married, while others have lengthy residency rules or mountains of paperwork
Guests unable to attend (older grandparents)
We are not going to lie, it’s a much bigger task to plan a wedding in a country you are unfamiliar with. I recommend you a wedding planner!
My personal recommandation:
Castell d'Emporda in Gerona (Spain)
Good luck with choosing your stunning Wedding Venue. In Belgium or abroad, it’s gonna be an unforgettable experience...
